Diversity counts! An expedition through biodiversity

19. February until 26. June 2016

Today, animal and plant species are disappearing faster than ever before in the history of the earth. The global extinction rate per year is currently 100 to 1,000 times higher than the natural rate – and only one species is responsible for this: mankind. At the latest now it is clear: diversity counts! But why and why is biodiversity so important? The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports research into and thus the preservation of biodiversity by funding numerous projects. Its interactive traveling exhibition “Diversity Counts” clearly shows why the diversity of life is so important to us.
