Bending the Curve

Special exhibition

Bending the Curve

Knowledge, action, care for biodiversity

13. October 2023 until 3. March 2024

A cooperation between Senckenberg, the Frankfurter Kunstverein and Frankfurt Zoo. The exhibition is located in the Frankfurter Kunstverein (between the Dom and the Römer).

Without biodiversity, no human existence is possible on planet Earth. However, biodiversity has been declining for too long. And at an alarming rate. This realization unites the team of curators at the Frankfurter Kunstverein, which invited the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Center and Frankfurt Zoo to join forces in an interdisciplinary collaboration. The result is the new exhibition Bending the Curve-Knowledge, Action, Care for Biodiversity, whose title alludes to the concept of “Bending the Curve of Biodiversity Loss”. It is about the question of how the negative trend can be stopped or even reversed. And it is about positive narratives. This is what the positions from art and science gathered in the show are all about. They illustrate ways and ideas for action to help ecosystems recover and serve the goal of reversing the biodiversity crisis.

Note: The exhibition is not located in the Senckenberg Nature Museum, but – a few subway stops away – in the Frankfurter Kunstverein.
