Special exhibition

Forests

From the Romantic to the Future

16. March until 11. August 2024

The forest as a home to biodiversity; a romantic utopia for mankind; an object and subject of the arts and natural science: all this is on display in an exhibition by the German Romanticism Museum, the Senckenberg Natural History Museum in Frankfurt, and the Sinclair-Haus Museum in Bad Homburg. The multi-part, transdisciplinary exhibition project of the three museums links the Romantic era to the present and looks onward into the future.

Scientific findings from Senckenberg research enter into a dialogue with the Romantic understanding of nature as well as older and newer artistic positions. An extensive program of exhibition events invites visitors to experience the forest in the museum’s “Aha?! Science Lab” as well as via a mobile station and outdoor walks in Frankfurt.

The project is generously supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation, the Crespo Foundation, the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain, the Polytechnische GesellschaftFrankfurt am Main Foundation and other sponsors.

A 3-Forests ticket for the exhibitions in all three museums is available at the Senckenberg museum’s ticket office.
