Places to see

Places to see is a cooperative project of 22 Frankfurt museums, Palmengarten and Zoo and offers non-profit organizations a diverse educational and outreach program – free of charge.

Places to see is aimed at groups of people from young to old who are involved in Frankfurt non-profit organizations or are members of a Frankfurt non-profit association and who would like to explore Frankfurt’s cultural institutions with association members.
The project is supported by the Cultural Office of the City of Frankfurt am Main.
Here you can find the official project page of the City of Frankfurt (only available in German)

The goals of the project are:

  • To promote cooperation between civil society actors. To this end, it brings non-profit organizations and Frankfurt cultural institutions into conversation.
  • To provide a cultural meeting place for people of the urban society and to create novel opportunities for synergies, networking and exchange.
  • To enable innovative forms of accessibility to cooperating Frankfurt cultural institutions. And to do this while taking into account the respective needs of the visitor groups. Be it accessible formats, foreign-language offerings or accompanying childcare.
  • To break down barriers in Frankfurt’s cultural institutions by creating sustainable structures of inclusion.
  • To serve as a platform for all participating groups and institutions to try out various formats of mediation and to further think about non-profit work together.

Offers at the Senckenberg Naturmuseum as part of the project Places to see:

During a guided tour (50 min) or a workshop (90 min) with a welcome and introduction in a cozy atmosphere, we roam through the museum together and get to know some of the more than 13,000 fascinating objects. Individually tailored to the wishes of the participants, we explore the museum and discover known and unknown things from the past and present of our earth.
Please note that we guide in group sizes of maximum 12 participants. Larger groups can be divided into several guiding groups.
