Forest Mobile

Outreach as part of the special exhibition “Forests. From the Romantic to the Future”

The Forest Mobile takes you out of the museum and into the city, reaching people in the city, outside the museums. This format for the special exhibition “Forests” invites visitors to engage with the topic of forests from different perspectives, not just in the exhibition itself, but in the park, in the city and in the forest.

What makes forests special places and what influence do they have on our lives? From April to July 2024, the Forest Mobile will bring the forest into the city. On various weekend dates, it will be out and about in the city forest, parks and urban spaces in Frankfurt and Bad Homburg. Together, the aim is to see the forests with different eyes, hear them differently and get to know them with new feelings. The forest habitats can be rediscovered with all the senses from different perspectives. The event will be attended by educators from the Senckenberg Natural History Museum, the Sinclair-Haus Museum and the German Romanticism Museum.

During the week, the Senckenberg Natural History Museum uses the cargo bike for school workshops. We visit schools with lots of material to feel, explore and discover the forest habitat together before the school classes come to visit the museum.

You will find the next dates in our calendar.
