Diversity matters! An expedition through biodiversity

19. 2 — 26. 6. 2016

Today, animal and plant species are disappearing faster than at any other time in Earth’s history. The global annual extinction rate is currently 100 to 1,000 times higher than the natural rate—and a single species is responsible for this: humans. It is now clear beyond a doubt: diversity matters! But why is biodiversity so important? The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports research into and thus the conservation of biological diversity by funding numerous projects. Its interactive traveling exhibition “Diversity Matters” vividly illustrates why the diversity of life is so important to us.

The exhibition is open during the Senckenberg Natural History Museum’s regular hours. Only the museum admission fee applies.
