Human Earth Cosmos Future

Affe-Mensch

1. Human: How much monkey is inside of us?

In the three subsections “Human Genesis,” “Humans as a System” and “Humans within the System,” the exposition section “Human” presents the most complex organism on our planet. One of the highlights will be the “tangible” and “walkable” presentation of the latest brain research findings, which is created with the support of the Hertie Foundation.

The topical area “Brain Research” is supported by the non-profit Hertie Foundation.

2. Earth: A complex system?

The new exhibition section “Earth” features the diversity of life and biotopes. Among the planned highlights will be a freely suspended LED globe with a diameter of 6 meters. The globe shows system parameters such as sea level fluctuations, water temperatures and inclement weather events as well as settlement history and population densities.

3. Cosmos: What lies behind the moon?

Already, the museum’s visitors are fascinated by our extensive meteorite collection, the presentation of the earth’s composition and the origin of the universe. The new exhibition section “Cosmos” will present three main themes: meteorites, the genesis of our solar system, and manned as well as unmanned space travel. In addition, the museum’s expansion entails the construction of a planetarium in the “Cosmos” section. It offers seating for 150 visitors, who will be presented with all new impressions from our and other distant solar systems.

4. Future: Shaping our future!

How will our planet develop in the future? What happens when the ice caps melt and land use continues to grow? The exposition section “Future” shows the development of well-founded models and prognoses and highlights the institutions that are active in this field. Visitors will also have an opportunity to turn some small and large adjusting screws themselves: interactive models allow you to change certain parameters of the “Earth System” and to experience the impact of these changes on the overall system.
