The Senckenberg Mission: Using Nature Research as “Medicine for the Earth”
To make our use of the earth and its natural resources wise and thoughtful, we have to develop natural research into a “healing science for the earth”, which aims to understand the connection between the earth and humans, as well as its complex dynamics as a whole. Our research and communication places focus on the interactions between the geosphere and the biosphere, the hydrosphere and the atmosphere, as well as the question of how habitats created and influenced by humans (anthroposphere) works in this system. We have long known that interventions in one place can have far-reaching consequences for other regions or even for global interaction. The aim here is to research, and assess, the potential effects of human interference in nature together with our national and international partners, thus giving us recommendations for a “healthy” approach towards our earth.
On the following pages you will find out what options there are for you to take part in our mission. We would be happy to talk to you about getting involved with, and for, Senckenberg.
