Places to see
“Places to See” is a collaborative project involving 22 museums in Frankfurt, the Palmengarten, and the Zoo—all nonprofit organizations—that offer a diverse, free educational and outreach program at their facilities. The Senckenberg Natural History Museum is also participating.
“Places to see” is aimed at groups of people of all ages who are involved in nonprofit organizations in Frankfurt or are members of a Frankfurt-based nonprofit association.
The “Places to see” project aims to …
- promote collaboration among civil society actors. To this end, it facilitates dialogue between nonprofit organizations and Frankfurt’s cultural institutions.
- provide a cultural meeting place for members of the city’s community and create new opportunities for synergy, networking, and exchange.
- enable innovative forms of accessibility to the participating Frankfurt cultural institutions—taking into account the specific needs of the visiting groups. Whether through accessible formats, foreign-language offerings, or even accompanying childcare.
- Break down barriers in Frankfurt’s cultural institutions by creating sustainable structures for inclusion.
- Serve as a platform for all participating groups and institutions to test diverse outreach formats and jointly rethink charitable work.
To take advantage of the offerings available through the “Places to see” project, the nonprofit organization or association must be registered for the project. All information regarding registration for “Places to see,” as well as an overview of all participating cultural institutions and offerings, can be found on the City of Frankfurt’s official project website.
At the Senckenberg Natural History Museum, we offer both guided tours and workshops as part of our “Places to See” program. More detailed information about the content and how to register for an event at our museum can be found below under “Events at the Senckenberg Natural History Museum.”
