Exploring habitats, animals and plants. To learn, marvel and to appreciate. We see our task as studying nature and letting the general public participate in the exciting research results – also with a view to our future.

Founded in 1817 by committed citizens of Frankfurt, the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research today is one of the most important research institutions for biological diversity worldwide.

Senckenberg members enjoy free admission to our natural history museums in Frankfurt, Görlitz and Dresden. The traditional house in Frankfurt is one of the largest natural history museums in Europe. Between dinosaur skeletons and giant snakes – here, young and old visitors undertake exciting time travels around the globe.
